En esta fecha se cumple un año del inicio del blog. Lo empecé con ilusión y algunas dudas. No estaba seguro de poder mantener un buen ritmo de entradas, si tendría material fotográfico suficiente para ello, si interesaría a muchos aficionados a la fotografía y los viajes....
This date marks the first anniversary of this blog. I started with lost of excitement and some doubts. I wasn't sure I could keep up with a nice rhythm of entries, if I would have enough materials for it, or if it would interest many photographers and travelers.
Ahora puedo decir que fué estupendo desarrollarlo mes a mes, buscar temas y fotos en mi archivo, obligarme a trabajar nuevos temas y por supuesto, ver que si se acercaban seguidores a echarle un vistazo. Fueron más de los que yo pensaba y muchos lo hicieron desde lugares realmente lejanos. Gracias a todos.
Now I can say it was great developing it month after month, searching for topics and images in my archive, forcing myself to work on new themes and of course, seeing there were people following it. There were a lot more than I thought there would be and from all around the world. Thank you all.
Quiero resaltar este aniversario con fotos de una de las aves que más me alegró poder fotografiar y que hasta el momento no había tenido espacio en el blog.
I want to celebrate this occasion with some images of a bird that I was really happy I could photograph and I hadn't had a chance to show in the blog yet.
Es el Martín Pescador (Alcedo atthis), una de las aves habituales en nuestros rios y lagos, con su largo pico, sus patas muy cortas y sus llamativos colores. Es un placer para observadores de aves y fotógrafos de naturaleza verle situarse en posaderos cercanos a superficies de agua clara, con el fin de lanzarse en picado para zambullirse y capturar su presa. A continuación, verle volver al posadero de partida para tragarla entera o llevarla a sus crías.
It is the Common Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis), a very common bird in our rivers and lakes, with a long bill, short legs and striking colors. It is a great experience for bird watchers and nature photographers to see them stopping at a perch close to the water, waiting to dive into it to seize their prey. Afterwards they return to the perch where they eat their prey or they take it to the nest for the broods.
