Es quizá el más famoso de los humedales de Kakadu y forma parte de las planicies de inundación del rio South Alligator.

Its trees and plants, the quiet and relaxing lagoons, the wonderful sunset and sunrise light on the water are an amazing show, but the main attraction of Yellow Water is the wildlife.
Por destacar solamente las especies más llamativas: cocodrilos de agua dulce y estuario, aves como las brolgas, garzas, jabirús, pigargos, martinetes, martín pescador, jacanas.... Una lista inigualable.
