Esta pequeña ave, apenas pesa 10 - 14 grs., con la parte superior de la cabeza oscura, negra en los machos, garganta blanca y un llamativo anillo rojo alrededor de los ojos, es la Curruca cabecinegra (Sylvia melanocephala).
This small bird that weights only 10 to 14 grams and has a dark head top, black on males, white neck and a striking red ring around the eyes is the Sardinian Warbler (Sylvia melanocephala).
Es habitual en el matorral mediterráneo y tambien en pinares y dehesas. Se distribuye por los paises del Mediterráneo. En España la podemos encontrar sobre todo en la mitad Sur y Baleares.
It is common in the Mediterranean scrublands, pine forest and meadows all along the Mediterranean countries. In Spain it is found especially in the Southern half of the peninsula and Baleares.
Tiene un canto muy sonoro y repetitivo. Es una ave sedentaria en España, aunque en invierno puede hacer desplazamientos hacia el sur.
Its singing is very loud and repetitive. It is a sedentary bird in Spain for the most part even though, during winter, it can move towards the south.
No es una especie amenazada en España, donde por el contrario, se halla en expansión.
It is not an endangered species in Spain, in fact it is growing.
